Suhail Star Heralds Shift Toward Milder Weather in Southern Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: The appearance of the Suhail star in Saudi Arabia's southern sky is a major astronomical indicator marking the end of the peak summer heat and the beginning of a transition toward more moderate weather, heralding a gradual decline in temperatures. Agricultural calendar researcher Mohammed Al-Wadaei explained that this period is ideal for farmers in the plains and mountain terraces to prepare and fertilize their land and sow winter vegetables and leafy greens, taking advantage of lower evaporation rates.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these celestial shifts also significantly impact the southern landscape, as the humid winds associated with Suhail contribute to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds and rainfall across the highlands of Aseer, Jazan, and Al-Baha. This, in turn, revitalizes vegetation and stimulates agricultural activity by increasing soil moisture in the plains and mountain terraces.
