Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with World Bank Group Executive Director Abdulaziz Al Mulla and Executive Director for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Office at the World Bank Group Suhail Al-Saeed. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) meetings in Washington.
The discussion covered various topics related to strengthening cooperation between the two sides, including economic matters and mechanisms for developing strategies to support innovation and entrepreneurship in GCC countries. Additionally, the meeting addressed ongoing coordination and the exchange of expertise and knowledge in financial and economic fields, as well as how to leverage the World Bank Group’s expertise to achieve the economic development goals of the GCC countries.
Albudaiwi emphasized the GCC General Secretariat’s goal of strengthening its relationship with the World Bank Group to serve the shared objectives of the GCC count
ries. He praised the World Bank Group’s efforts to enhance cooperation, which contributes to achieving their common goals.
